Honda CR-V: Opening/Closing the Tailgate / Using the Outer Handle
When all the doors are unlocked or press the tailgate unlock button on the remote transmitter, the tailgate is unlocked. Press the outer handle and lift open the tailgate.
Do not leave the key, remote transmitter * , or smart entry remote * in the cargo area before closing the tailgate.
Models with smart entry system
If you are carrying the smart entry remote, you do not have to unlock the tailgate before opening it.
To close the tailgate, grab the inner handle, pull the tailgate down, and push it closed from outside.
Even if you are not carrying the smart entry remote, you can lock/unlock the tailgate while someone else with the remote is within range.

Press the tailgate unlock button to unlock the tailgate.
If you have unlocked and opened the tailgate using
the remote transmitter or smart entry remote * , when
closing, the tailgate locks automatically...

Seat Belt Reminder
The seat belt system includes an indicator on the instrument panel to remind the driver or a front passenger or both to fasten their seat belts.
If the ignition switch is turned to ON
*1 and
a seat belt is not fastened, a beeper will sound
and the indicator will blink. After a few
seconds, the beeper will stop and the
indicator will come on and remain illuminated
until the seat belt is fastened.
